What are
the ingredients?
The all natural
basic ingredients of Flea Free are: vinegar, garlic, citrus and herbs.
Vinegar is a
natural storehouse of vitamins, minerals (including beta carotene), amino acids
and beneficial enzymes which contains over 90 different components. It's
effective in treating gas in small puppies, helps prevent urinary tract problems
in male cats and the formation of mineral stones, and also helps in dissolving
hairballs. It has been said to lengthen life, improve hearing, vision and
mental powers. It is also claimed to help or even banish arthritis,
forestall osteoporosis, prevent cancer, kill infection, condition the skin, aid
in digestion, control weight, preserve memory, and protect the mind and body
from aging. Vinegar contains over 30 important nutrients and a dozen
minerals.
Garlic is called
"nature's antibiotic". It works in the liver to break down
toxins and has a cleansing quality in the blood. It both detoxifies and
rejuvenates everything in the body with which it comes in contact. Louis
Pasteur was one of the first scientists to notice that bacteria die on contact
with garlic. It is even more effective than modern antibiotics, such as
penicillin and tetracycline. The list of dangerous bacteria that succumb
to garlic includes: botulism, dysentery, staph and tuberculosis. It's
effective against fungus and parasites such as fleas, flies, ticks, mites,
mosquitoes, and other biting insects. It is a complex compound containing
more than 200 vitamins, minerals, amino acids and enzymes. And from
ancient time, it has been recognized as a healer with most mystical powers.
Flea Free also
contains citrus and herbs which are beneficial in supplying vitamin C,
providing complex carbohydrates, and anti-oxidants. They also reduce free
radical damage to tissue and organ systems.
The herbs used
are the ones found in your own kitchen cabinet, such as ginger. These
herbs, along with the vinegar, help with digesting the Flea Free. They
make sure that the Flea Free gets into your pet's system so that it can
work.
Flea Free works
on ALL blood-feeding insects: biting flies, fleas, lice, mites,
mosquitoes, and ticks. For a medium sized dog, just add one tablespoon to
one quart of your pet's drinking water or one teaspoon to his food daily, and
watch the results you'll get! Since cats weigh less, you can add one
teaspoon to the water or one-half teaspoon to the food.
Q. I have heard that garlic is not safe to give to pets. Is this
true or is it a myth?
A. The ingredient in garlic that can be harmful is
the allicin. Too much of it can lead to a type of anemia. The
garlic used in
the Flea Free products is air-dried garlic, which contains the least amount of
allicin. Raw garlic has a high amount of allicin, so
is raw garlic that can cause problems if used in excess.
The garlic in Flea Free has been highly recommended by the American
Feed Control Officials, Inc (AFCO) and has been
given a GRAS (generally recognized as safe) listing. It contains
only 397 ug/gram post allicin compounds compared to 3,192 ug/grams in raw
garlic, and the allicin content is even higher in freeze dried garlic.
According to the National Institute of Cancer, these post-allicin compounds are
actually the most beneficial and desirable. They produce strong garlic
odor in Air Dried Garlic which is responsible for its repellent properties.
The small amount of Flea Free used in the drinking water or food is so
slight that there is no cause for any concern.
Garlic has been used for centuries as an insect repellent and has been
known for its healing properties. You may use this product with total confidence.
It is absolutely safe and is highly recommended. In fact, many breeders
use Flea Free on their nursing mothers food or in the water, and there is no
harm for the new puppies.
Q. How much do I give my dog? Should I give my cat less
since she weighs less?
A. On the bottle there will be instructions on
how much Flea Free to add. The recommended amount is one teaspoon added
to food or one tablespoon added to one quart of water. This is based on
a medium sized dog weighing around 35 lbs.
If
you're giving Flea Free Food Supplement to a cat, the amount that is put on the
food can be cut in half. In other words, you can add 1/2 teaspoon
to the food. If you're giving the Supplement to a tiny kitten, you would
only need to give 1/4 teaspoon.
If
you're giving the Supplement to a larger sized dog, you would increase the
amount given in the food. For instance, add 2 teaspoons to the food
of a dog weighing around 70 lbs., and add 3 teaspoons (1 tablespoon) to a dog
weighing around 100 lbs.
Q. How long will a gallon of Flea Free last
me?
A. Example: Family with 3 dogs each weighing
approx. 100 lbs
You would need 3 teaspoons or 1 tablespoon per day. So you would
be giving 3 tablespoons total each day. There are 2 tablespoons in each
oz. Since there are 128 oz in a gallon, there would be 256 tablespoons
altogether. If you divide 256 by 3 tablespoons per day, you get
85.3. So a gallon container should last about 85 days which is just a few
days short of 3 months.
Q. What is Flea Free's shelf life?
A. As
far as we know, the longest amount of time a case of Flea Free sat in a garage,
through seasonal temperature changes was three years, & it was still as
effective as a newly processed batch.
Q. How long does Flea Free take to start working?
A. That depends on your pet’s weight, metabolism,
amount of infestation, & overall health of the animal. The average is six
to ten days, but it has taken as little as three days & as long as three
weeks. Pure white animals take longer than dark ones.
